Working bee near Verdun Street, 1200 plants in!

Image
The working bee of Sunday 28 August put in around 1200 seedlings along the embankment down from the playground and the sides of the creek.  A committed group of twelve kept going until nearly all the plants were gone. Adrian's powered hole digger certainly speeds things up. It was quite a long site so we had two planting parties quite separate from each other. A special mention for Suet Mon and her son Thomas, who is in Prep grade - both worked very hard the whole morning. We finished, as usual, with a well earned morning tea.

Working Bee behind Café Biscotti Sunday 28th September

Our next Sunday working bee will be held on 28th September from 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon.  We will be planting the area behind Café Biscotti, on the Verdun Street edge of the park.   Meet here at 10.00 a.m wearing sensible clothes and ready for Melbourne's changeable weather. It is our Spring Planting Festival and Adrian has well over one thousand little seedlings for us to plant. Bring your family and friends for a rewarding day and stay for morning tea and a chat afterwards.  Contact person is Stuart 0418 533 181

Working bee near Verdun Street

The working bee on 25 August 2013 was productive.  We replanted a section of South Surrey Park just down from the entry off Verdun Street behind the Riversdale Road shops, near Cafe Biscotti. Some friendly residents provided us with some nice coffee and stopped for a chat too.
