Working bee Sunday 28 October 2012 at the Little Bridge

Date: Sunday 28th October from 10.00 until 12 noon.
Location: Meet meet below the platform table between the little bridge and Union Road

We will be planting the area we have come to call the crescent bed which we mulched in August.   We will meet below the platform table between the little bridge and Union Road at 10.00 a.m wearing sturdy shoes and prepared for Melbourne weather with appropriate hats, gloves, raincoats, sunscreen etc!

This event is part of the Boroondara Spring Planting Festival and is a great opportunity to make your contribution to our suburb.  Afterwards there will be morning tea  and this is a good chance to catch up with friends or find out more about the group if this is your first time with us.

National Tree Day Working Bee - 29 July

10:00am to 12:00 noon Sunday 29 July 2012

Our next working bee is on National Tree Day.

We will be planting the newly prepared area along the creek below the Scout Hall.   Come along wearing suitable clothes and be part of an Australia-wide effort on National Tree Day to do something positive for our environment.

There will be tea and coffee for morning tea and Boroondara Council will be providing a delicious barbeque which will be located at Quinton Street.   That will be a good opportunity to meet up with old and new friends as we will be sharing the barbecue with Friends of Back Creek.

Working bee near Riversdale Road - 24 June

On Sunday 24 June 2012 thirteen willing workers spread out newspapers and underlay and covered with mulch an area at the rear of the Scout Hall. This prepared area, already sprayed by Adrian, will be ready for "National Tree Day" and planted on the last Sunday in July.

A pleasant Sunday sunny morning was enjoyed by all participants and work was completed in a very short time. The rest of the time was used removing weeds at creek banks in the same area.

Tea and coffee was served and enjoyed at completion of works.
